Erik Minter is an American painter based in New Jersey and a graduate of the Pratt Institute. After a career in commercial design, creating packaging and visual merchandise design for major brands, he started painting. His paintings bridge the gap between the abstract and the surreal. He explains, "I treat my work as if I were constructing metaphysics through past, present and future experiences."

He explores our interaction with gravity, light and speed. In the realization of his gesture, the environment that surrounds him and light, he develops a set of tendencies, some of which combine today to create works that are constantly evolving.
